my favorite notebooks and their aesthetic(▰˘◡˘▰)

for my first blogpost, i figured i'd talk about some of my most precious things i currently own; my notebooks - and how their different designs make me have a completely different approach to them. (▰˘◡˘▰)

the notebook: this is my sketchbook. it's a cozy-sized spiral notebook, with a lovely strap attached to it. it's one of my recent purchases, however it's one of my favorites.

the aesthetic: when you look at the design, it serves vintage traveling vibes. it reminds you of places you've never been to, blank canvases, and vhs tapes. its warm color resembles hot chocolate in a cold winter night. it makes you think of architecture and endless imperfect sketches, struggles with the rulers. your mind goes to plane tickets, and warm adventures during fall. somehow, polaroids come to mind, and all those happy memories saved in a small photograph, for you to remember endlessly.(´ω｀*)

the notebook: i've owned my current journal/diary since the end of august 2016, i reckon◑.◑ it's the only diary ever that i haven't abandoned, it's coming close to the last page :'c i have countless diaries from previous years, and i even kept one for 8 months in 2014 but i still didn't finish all the pages and gave up, what a pity.

the aesthetic: when you look at the color palette, spring immediately comes to mind. you think about sakura trees, and petals gently falling into the crystal-clear river. it reminds you of butterflies roaming around freely, and their occasional stops on the beautiful flowers that have yet to fully bloom. it makes you think about those spring break nights, where you read magazines and paint nails with your friends because it's cliche. and most of all, it gives you the sense of freedom, it makes you feel like you have the power to fly, just like a butterfly.(*´ー`)

the notebook: i hold this notepad as a treasure, most likely because it's a rare find. when i saw it back in september of 2016, my jaw dropped ಠ╭╮ಠ the inside of the notepad is far more beautiful, i was just plain shook. and then i got it and i still use it to this day to organize my school stuff.

the aesthetic: when you take a glance on this notebook, you'll notice little sparkles floating around. it reminds you of those wild dreamers who have big ideas and ambitions, you imagine sleepless study nights, with countless refills of coffee and a mess with the stains. it makes you imagine highlighters, and flashcards, and all of the little colorful things that motivate you to chase after your dreams. it brings the stress of the exams, and the overflow of joy when you get an answer right. it fills you up with hapiness inside, because the colors always radiate positivity, lightness, and the quote encourages you to keep on having big dreams and big ideas to write down on. uvu
